Seabirds fly away from a military hovercraft carrying marines during yesterday’s final phase of maneuvers in northern Greece attended by President Costis Stephanopoulos and Defense Minister Yiannos Papantoniou. Speaking after the end of the exercise, in the Gulf of Orfanos east of Halkidiki, Papantoniou accused Turkey of increasing tension in the Aegean by stepping up air force violations of Greece’s air space.
