Protesters occupy Health Ministry building after news of sackings
Health Ministry officials took over on Monday morning the department’s main building in Athens in protest at employee dismissals.
A total of 70 ministry employees with only secondary level education have received notice that they will be made redundant.
Colleagues who have occupied the Health Ministry building are demanding that the sackings be cancelled and the government assure all employees in the department that their jobs are safe.
