Thessaloniki students complain of ‘climate of violence’ at Aristotle University

A group of 35 students at Aristotle University’s law faculty on Wednesday sent a letter to the Thessaloniki university’s management, complaining that the institution has been taken over by “hooligans” who have been exploiting “people and institutions,” referring to recent assaults and threats against students by members of far-left organizations.

The letter refers to “a climate of violence and terrorism” following individual attacks on students as well as a recent assault on a group of students and a professor who tried to clear up garbage that had accumulated outside the university’s theological faculty over the course of a two-month strike by municipal contract workers.
