EGAM calls for anti-racism rally in Athens on Dec. 15
The Paris-based European Grassroots Antiracist Movement (EGAM) on Monday proposed a protest march from Greece’s Parliament to the Acropolis at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, to protest a rising wave of racism.
“Racism, anti-Semitism and neo-Nazism are developing, in Greece and elsewhere in Europe, without democratic forces responding dynamically and decisively,” EGAM said.
It added that the phenomenon could not be simply accepted as a “natural” consequence of Greece’s economic crisis.
