Stolen bust recovered on Crete
An 18-year-old man faced theft charges on Tuesday after police officers on Crete arrested him for allegedly stealing a bronze bust of air force pilot Costas Iliakis, who was killed in 2006 while trying to intercept a Turkish overflight.
According to police reports, the young man stole the bust over the weekend with the intention of selling it to a scrap dealer.
