Protesting judges, prosecutors extend action

Greek judges and prosecutors, who having been staging a work-to-rule protest over wage cuts since September, have decided to extend their action until January 19 – effectively turning down government concessions that would have eased the impact of the reductions.

However, in a sign of compromise, judges on Monday decided to shorten the length of their daily walkouts by two hours. Also, judges at administrative courts decided to hear up to half of scheduled cases.
