Court orders seizure of Lavrentiadis’s assets

An Athens court of first instance on Wednesday called for the seizure of assets belonging to Lavrentis Lavrentiadis, the main shareholder of Proton Bank, along with those of 29 of his former associates, over a case regarding the alleged transfer of hundreds of millions of euros in bad loans from the bank to Lavrentiadis’s group of companies.

The ruling upheld an appeal lodged by the bank’s shareholders, who claim to have suffered massive losses due to the activities of Lavrentiadis and his associates.
