Police fear body found in dumpster belongs to missing academic
Police in Thessaloniki on Monday were questioning a suspect in connection to the gruesome discovery earlier in the day by a sanitation crew of a body in a recycling dumpster in the Saranda Ekklisies neighborhood.
The body was wrapped in blankets and sheets of plastic, and police are investigating the possibility that it belongs to a retired academic who was reported missing by his family last week.
Police suspect his death was the result of foul play.
