Ex-Independent Greeks MP accuses Kammenos of having ‘secret agenda’

Yiannis Kourakos, an MP who quit the Independent Greeks last week, has accused the right-wing party’s leader Panos Kammenos of having a “secret agenda” to support leftist SYRIZA and take Greece out of the European Union.

“Mr Kammenos has a secret agenda with SYRIZA and the dollar,” Kourakos told Skai TV. “The party’s founding charter referred to the EU and remaining in the euro. We cannot be talking about the dollar. This means leaving the EU.”

Kourakos also claims that he was called last week by former New Democracy MP and public order minister Giorgos Voulgarakis, who claimed to be supporting the Independent Greeks.

“I hadn’t spoken to him for more than 10 years and he tells me: “Now that we found money, you’re poised to break up the party”,” Kourakis claims Voulgarakis told him.
