State funding to be reduced to less than half in 2013

Greece’s seven parliamentary parties received 45.15 million euros in 2012, but will get less than half of that next year – 21.6 million euros – according to a report presented in Parliament on Tuesday by Finance Minister Yannis Stournaras.

The total amount of state funding in 2014 will be reduced further to 19.98 million euros, the report said.

Stournaras’s report was presented in response to a question by ultranationalist Golden Dawn MP Eleni Zaroulia, who also requested data regarding bank loans issued to parties.
