EOPYY doctors call off protest, await payment of 1.4bln euros
Doctors working with the National Organization for Healthcare Provision (EOPYY) have decided to call off action, which saw them refusing to provide care on credit to patients insured with Greece’s largest fund.
The doctors, who met on Saturday, said they would suspend further action after being assured by Alternate Finance Minister Christos Staikouras that they would be paid the money they are owed by the state.
In a statement, the doctors said they are owed 300 million from last year and 1.1 billion euros from 2010 and 2011.
