Kammenos’s 2009 Australia trip cost taxpayers 17,227 euros

In response to a question from New Democracy MP Adonis Georgiadis regarding a trip that Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos made to Australia when he was deputy merchant marine minister in 2009, the government revealed on Tuesday that the nine-day visit had cost taxpayers 17,227 euros.

Georgiadis said that there had been complaints from Greek Australians who claimed that Kammenos and his wife had “spent Greek taxpayers’ money provocatively.”
