List handed to former FinMin contained 2,059 names, say sources
A list of Greeks with bank accounts at a Geneva HSBC branch handed to former Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos by former Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE), Yiannis Diotis, contained the names of 2,059 people, Kathimerini reported on Wednesday.
According to Finance Ministry sources, the memory stick did not include files related to three relatives of former Finance Minister Giorgos Papaconstantinou (photo).
Papaconstantinou has publicly denied accusations that he had removed the names of his relatives from the so-called Lagarde List.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court on Tuesday asked for the USB stick containing the list to be investigated for electronic traces that might reveal when it was tampered with.
On Wednesday, financial prosecutors were expected to question Papaconstantinou’s relatives – a first cousin of Papaconstantinou, her husband and the spouse of another cousin of the ex-minister.
