Ex-PM’s mother demands copy of testimony pointing to her as being on Lagarde list

Margarita Papandreou, the mother of former Socialist Premier George Papandreou, has asked financial prosecutors Grigoris Peponis and Spyros Mouzakitis for copies of the depositions of officials of the Financial Crimes Squad (SDOE) who are alleged to have said the 89-year-old US national was “behind” an account said to contain half a billion dollars that was on the Lagarde list of Greek with deposits at an HSBC branch in Geneva.

Since the alleged deposition in early December, it has emerged that the account is held by a mutual fund.

Papandreou said she wanted copies of the depositions to protect herself from defamation.
