Man arrested for abetting soccer fan’s murder
A 28-year-old man wanted on charges of abetting in the murder of a soccer fan was arrested late on Wednesday in Athens.
According to police, the 28-year-old resisted arrest and attacked police officers at the scene of the killing of 26-year-old Michalis Filopoulos during a clash between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos fans in March 2007 in Paiania, eastern Attica.
In July, four people were found guilty of Filopoulos’s murder and are currently serving jail sentences.
