New bill allows government to use money left in inactive bank accounts

The government has put to public consultation a draft law that allows the state access to any money that has been left in inactive bank accounts and to use it to fund social policies.

The bill also foresees civil servants receiving 50 percent of their basic salary when they retire to tide them over until they start receiving their pension payments.
