Thanos Tzimeros steps down from Recreate Greece party
Thanos Tzimeros, the businessman who founded the centrist party Dimiourgia Xana (Recreate Greece), announced on Facebook on Friday that he was stepping down as the group’s president to be replaced by Nikos Nikolaidis.
However, Tzimeros said that he would be seeking the leadership of the party at an upcoming congress.
The pro-business party surprised many by gathering 2.1 percent of the vote in last May’s elections but only polled 1.5 percent in June, when it teamed up with another liberal party, Drasi.
