Papandreou warns against rising nationalism in Europe
Former Greek Prime Minister and current President of Socialist International George Papandreou on Saturday warned against rising nationalism in Europe.
“We must stop nationalist rhetoric in Europe,” he said at a forum on Balkan cooperation held in Thessaloniki.
“[First it was] the stereotypes about ‘lazy’ and ‘spendthrift’ southerners. Now we are witnessing the spread of nationalism inside European societies,” he added.
