Two men arrested over fan violence

Police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a brawl during the basketball cup final on Sunday.

Police, who have been reviewing CCTV footage from the Elliniko arena, are reportedly looking for three more suspects.

The game between Panathinaikos and Olympiakos was interrupted for almost half an hour as rival fans clashed in the stands and on the pitch.

After a meeting on Monday presided over by Public Order Minister Nikos Dendias it was decided that Brigadier General Nikos Hasomeris would be suspended and a probe launched into 24 police officers for failure to carry out their duty.

The game resumed before empty stands. Panathinaikos beat archival Olympiakos 81-78.
