A 36-year-old man charged with the murder of a 48-year-old man in Filippiada, near Arta, was remanded in custody after testifying before an investigative magistrate on Friday. He was expected to be transferred to Korydallos Prison later in the day.
The 36-year-old suspect admitted to killing the victim, a friend of his, before dismembering him.
A coroner who examined the pieces of the victim’s body recovered from his home and a nearby river on Thursday described the crime as one of “inconceivable brutality.”
A 25-year-old woman alleged to have been present at the time of the killing was expected to testify on Monday.
