Police name suspect arrested for racist attacks in Athens

The police have published the detail of a 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of four racist attacks in Athens.

The suspect was named as Constantinos Kontomous from Maroussi, northern Athens.

He is the first person to be arrested as a result of the work carried out by the police’s new anti-racism unit.

The police said they were releasing his details and publishing his photo in the hope it would cause members of the public to come forward and provide information by calling the 11414 hotline.
