Four detained in Attica over debts to state totaling over 4 mln euros

Four people were arrested in Attica on Wednesday over debts to the state in excess of a total of 4 million euros.

A 49-year-old plastics company director was arrested in Glyka Nera, eastern Attica, for owing 2.7 million euros in social security contributions, while in the northern Athenian suburb of Nea Erythraia, the 64-year-old CEO of a telecoms firm was found to owe 1.3 million euros.

A 65-year-old transport company chief arrested in nearby Maroussi owes the Social Security Foundation (IKA) 171,651 euros, while a 54-year-old arrested near Athens International Airport in Spata is in catering and owes the state 79,361 euros.
