Leaders pay condolences after Chavez death as Tsipras heads to funeral
Political leaders Thursday expressed their condolences for the death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez with the head of the main leftist opposition party SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras, due to travel to Caracas for the funeral.
President Karolos Papoulias expressed his sympathies for the Venezuelan people and for the relatives of Chavez, who died at 58 following a long battle with cancer, as did socialist PASOK and the Communist Party.
