One of the 120 workers on a nine-day hunger strike deep in a Halkidiki lead and zinc mine nods off beside a Greek flag yesterday. Protesters are seeking government reassurances that the mine will continue to operate despite the bankruptcy of the firm that owns it. Following talks with prospective investors yesterday, Economy Ministry officials voiced optimism on the miners’ future employment.
