Woman climbs down from Omonia Square sculpture after threatening to commit suicide

A deaf woman who climbed onto a metal sculpture in Omonia Square, central Athens, threatening to kill herself has descended without incident.

The woman climbed onto the sculpture on Monday morning at about 7 a.m. and threatened to jump but was talked down about three hours later.

Police believe that the woman concerned was probably the same person who had climbed onto the statue in December threatening to kill herself.
