Greek killed by Islamic extremists had been working in Nigeria since 2011
Konstantinos Karras, a Greek lab supervisor killed by Islamic extremists in Nigeria had been working for Lebanese construction company Setraco Nigeria LTD since September 2011.
According to his profile on professional online network LinkedIn, he had earned a degree in geology at the University of Athens in 2003, before acting as a quality coordinator geologist for the construction of the Egnatia Odos highway in northern Greece. He also worked as a lab coordinator in Cyprus and as a site laboratory coordinator in Libya.
Karras was abducted along with another six men by members of the extremist group Ansaru at Setraco’s unit situated in Nigeria’s Bauchi state on February 16.
