Certain illegal constructions to be demolished

A number of illegal constructions erected on foreshores, forest lands and protected areas across the country are expected to be pulled down by decentralized government crews. The demolitions are set to take place during the spring season.

Bulldozers are expected to begin pulling down illegal buildings whose owners have been issued with demolition orders on Crete, the Cycladic and the Dodecanese islands.

The demolitions were ordered following checks by environmental inspectors and involve constructions which cannot be legalized.
