Woman, two minors, found dead on Lesvos probably migrants

Coast Guard officials on the eastern Aegean island of Lesvos on Friday recovered the remains of a woman and two children from different parts of the island’s coastline.

The body of the woman and one of the children were discovered in the morning and that of the second child later in the day, according to sources.

Authorities believe the three were would-be migrants who drowned in their attempt to reach Greece from neighboring Turkey amid high winds and were scouring the island’s coastline for signs of a smuggling vessel and other migrants.
