Composer Mikis Theodorakis admitted to hospital in Athens with breathing problems

Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis has been admitted to the hospital in Athens due to breathing problems, doctors said on Saturday.

Theodorakis is under observation and is suffering from a lung infection, officials at the Athens Medical Center said.

The 87-year-old is known internationally for composing the music for Zorba the Greek and for creating symphonic compositions around poetry from Greece and other countries.
