Lavrentiadis denied bail
An Athens court on Wednesday rejected a bail request submitted by businessman Lavrentis Lavrentiadis, former main shareholder of Proton Bank.
The entrepreneur is currently in pretrial custody in high security Korydallos Prison. The case involves Proton Bank issuing millions of euros in non-performing loans to businesses connected to Lavrentiadis.
Lavrentiadis had cited serious health problems as the reason behind his request for bail.
