Diver says reef wasn’t visible from ship deck

The reef on which the Sea Diamond cruise ship ran aground in April 2007 off the coast of the southeastern Aegean island of Santorini, could not have been visible from the deck of the vessel, a coast guard diver at the scene of the accident told a Piraeus court Wednesday.

The court also heard the testimony of another coast guard driver who said that he searched the cabin of two French tourists – a father and daughter – who are missing and presumed dead before the ship sank but had not seen any evidence of them inside the cabin.
