Truck drivers take issue with ‘demeaning’ air travel ad
Greek truck drivers have taken issue with a television commercial by an online flight booking service that satirizes the hitch-hiking experience.
The ad, which shows a middle-aged truck driver making a sexual overture to a young male hitch-hiker, was deemed by unions representing truckers as “demeaning and insulting” to professional drivers.
The unions drafted a letter addressed to the management of AirFastTickets.gr demanding the immediate withdrawal of the commercial from the airwaves and a public apology, according to a local website dedicated to transport news.
