Peristeri and Anthoupoli metro station set to open this week
Two new stations on the Athens metro’s line 2 — Peristeri and Anthoupoli — are set to open this week following long delays with regard to the project’s completion.
Inauguration ceremonies are scheduled to take place on Friday while the stations are expected to open to the public on Saturday morning.
The Anthoupoli-Syntagma journey is expected to take 13 minutes while it is being estimated that about 50,000 commuters will use the new stations on a daily basis.
Meanwhile, the Haidari metro station is expected to be completed by September, while an extension toward the southern suburbs at the area of Elliniko is expected in July through the completion of another four stations.
