PM’s airplane used to transport teen for life-saving surgery
Prime Minister Antonis Samaras on Wednesday allowed the prime-ministerial aircraft to be used for the immediate transfer of a 15-year-old boy who needs brain surgery to a specialist clinic in Germany.
The move followed an appeal issued on Tuesday night by the president of the Athens Medical Association, Giorgos Patoulis, as a bureaucratic holdup in the Greek healthcare system was putting the boy’s life at risk.
