Central Evangelismos Hospital to acquire new wing

Work on a new wing for Evangelismos Hospital in central Athens is expected to get under way on Monday, according to management, with the demolition of part of the old building.

The new wing of one of the country’s biggest hospitals is expected to hold 22 new operating theaters, as well as intensive-care units, hemodynamic testing centers and a central sterilization unit, significantly boosting the institution’s services. Meanwhile, a new dialysis unit is expected to open at the hospital on Monday.

The construction of the new wing is being funded by National Bank of Greece with a 30-million-euro donation.
