Cigarette smuggler wanted in Belgium caught in Athens
A 50-year-old Greek man wanted on a European arrest warrant was arrested in Athens on Friday and is facing charges of smuggling bootleg cigarettes and participating in a criminal gang, both in Greece and in Belgium.
The man is wanted by Belgian authorities for being part of a Greek and Bulgarian gang that smuggled cigarettes from Greece to the UK via Belgium and the Netherlands.
