Police find escaped convict’s fingerprints in van involved in fatal shooting

Police have found in an abandoned van the fingerprints of one of the 11 prisoners who escaped from Trikala Prison in central Greece last month.

The vehicle was found in Mandra, west of Athens, on Sunday and is believed to have been used by several of the inmates.

Police said the fingerprints found belonged to 36-year-old Ermal Dribata, an Albanian national, who was among those who escaped.

The van was involved in a chase with police near Corinth last week, during which a bullet fired from the vehicle hit a passing car and killed a 25-year-old woman.
