Police arrest three in connection with European drug-trafficking ring

Three alleged accomplices in a major drug-trafficking ring operating across Europe have been arrested after police uncovered nearly half a ton of hashish in a truck ostensibly carrying wine.

The truck, which belonged to a Bulgaria-based company and which was carrying Bulgarian license plates, was headed to Western Europe.

Police arrested two Greeks, aged 57 and 63, and a 22-year-old Albanian who is believed to be connected to an elusive Albania-based drug ring.
