Would-bank robbers suspected of being Trikala escapees
Police suspect that four men who attempted to hold up a branch of National Bank in Oropos, north of Athens, on Friday may have been the four inmates who escaped from Trikala Prison last month and shot dead a 25-year-old woman as they attempted to escape from police.
The would-be robbers were unable to get their hands on any cash as the safe at the bank operated with a time delay.
