Ioannina municipality treasurer suspended over missing cash
The treasurer of the Municipality of Ioannina in northwestern Greece has been suspended after an internal investigation revealed that over 1 million euros has gone missing from municipal coffers.
Speaking at a press conference over the weekend, Ioannina Mayor Filippos Filios noted that the only key to the treasury’s safe was held by its chief.
