Policemen face sanctions for violent arrest of migrant
Two policemen are facing disciplinary sanctions following a police department investigation with regard to an incident involving the violent arrest of a migrant on Amerikis Square, central Athens, in January 2012.
According to the report the officers used excessive force to arrest the migrant who was charged with overturning garbage bins, causing damage to parked vehicles and disturbing the peace.
A video of the arrest was subsequently posted on www.youtube.com in April 2012.
