Health inspectors seize 19 tons of Chinese peanuts in Piraeus, and meat from Keratsini

Food safety inspectors in Piraeus on Monday seized a shipment of 19 tons of peanuts from China, which were found to contain high levels of the highly toxic and carcinogenic substance aflatoxin.

The shipment will be returned to China.

Health authorities also seized 67 kilos of meat from a butcher shop in Keratsini, western Piraeus, which was deemed unfit for consumption.
