Coast Guard finds 40 undocumented migrants on Samothrace beach
Coast guard officers picked up 40 undocumented immigrants on the northeastern coast of Samothrace on Tuesday, taking to almost 90 the number of migrants found there in the past few days.
Authorities said that they immigrants crossed from Turkey in a rubber dinghy. They were found on Agistro beach, the same spot on the northern Aegean island where 49 migrants were found about a week earlier.
The migrants are to be transferred to Alexandroupoli.
