Athens metro stations closed for May Day protests reopen

The four metro stations in central Athens that were closed early on Wednesday due to police orders ahead of May Day protests have opened again.

Panepistimio, Syntagma, Evangelismos and Megaro Mousikis stations opened shortly after 2 p.m., when most of the crowds from the rallies had dispersed.

The turnout for the protests appeared fairly low. No major incidents were reported.
