Stray bullet fired during shootout in Iraklio injures passer-by

A 31-year-old woman was undergoing surgery in a hospital in the Cretan port of Iraklio on Thursday after being hit in the leg by a stray bullet fired during a shootout between unidentified assailants in a central street in the port on Wednesday night.

According to witnesses, two assailants started firing guns at a third person following a dispute.

The woman had been passing by when the incident occurred and was hit by one of the shots.
