Greek-German initiative foresees training for students in Berlin
The Municipality of Lagadas, near Thessaloniki, has signed an agreement with German authorities for 1,000 Greek students to be enrolled in a work experience program in Berlin.
Lagadas Mayor Yiannis Anastasiadis said the schemes would last for three-and-a-half years and students would stay at halls of residences in the German capital.
He said that students would soon be able to submit applications for the program and that representatives of German companies would come to Greece to carry out interviews before choosing successful applicants.
Anastasiadis reached the agreement with German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s special envoy to Greece, Hans-Joachim Fuchtel.
