Iraklio hotel gas blast victim dies in hospital

A 47-year-old man who had suffered serious burns following an explosion at a hotel in Iraklio, Crete, on April 22, died of his injuries on Tuesday.

The man had been transferred from Iraklio to a special burns unit in the G. Gennimata Hospital in Athens last month but doctors were unable to save him.

The hotel explosion was provoked by a gas leak.
