Three Greeks detained in Turkish-occupied part of Cyprus released

Three Greeks who had been detained in the occupied part of Cyprus have been released, the Foreign Ministry in Athens said on Monday.

The three Greek nationals were take into custody for being in the buffer zone between the Greek- and Turkish-Cypriot communities “without permission.”

“The Foreign Ministry announces that the three Greek citizens who had been arrested and detained illegally in occupied Cyprus have been released and have returned,” Athens said.

“The Embassy communicated with the Greek citizens, who are in good health.”
