National cricket team coach remanded in custody
The coach of the Greek national cricket team was remanded in custody on Wednesday after facing a prosecutor on the Ionian island of Corfu over charges of child molestation.
The 49-year-old was caught in the act last Saturday following complaints filed by the boy’s parents as well as calls by neighbors who had reportedly observed unusual behavior by the suspect.
According to local police the suspect had repeatedly abused the under-age youngster in exchange for cash.
Corfu is the home of the national team and the Greek cricket federation.
