Migrant burglars in Hania collared while trying to flee in taxi
Three migrant workers who burgled the home of their employer in the Cretan port of Hania were caught with the stolen items following a police inspection on the taxi in which they had tried to flee, police said on Thursday.
The three men – an Egyptian, a Tunisian and an Algerian – hailed the taxi after allegedly stealing two laptops, a pair of sunglasses and 800 euros in cash.
On discovering he had been burgled, the employer alerted police, who set up roadblocks and located the taxi.
